Today I heard the perspective of John P., a local Murray resident who feels frustrated by the recent rash of car burglaries and package theft. We talked about the need for neighbors to work together and how the internet age has made it harder to feel connected to the people on your street. It would be nice to go back to the days of block parties and over-the-fence chats, but we’re going to have to find new ways to make that happen.
John was kind enough to invite me to his neighborhood watch meeting in February. I’m looking forward to seeing how my neighbors are tackling the public safety challenges District 2 is facing.
